Essentials of the HUD Program

The purpose of our HUD eLearning classes is to provide information for all interested personnel to successfully provide housing under the 4350.3 HUD handbook regulations.

 

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class A – Eligibility 4350.3 Chapters 1 & 3 - $95

This is the first class of six in the Essentials of the HUD program course. Learn the foundations of the HUD affordable housing program and understand how to identify eligible residents. This class explores Chapters 1 and 3 of the HUD Handbook 4350.3.

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class B – Waiting List and Tenant Selection 4350.3 Chapter 4 - $95

This is the second class in the Essentials of the HUD Program course. This introduction to tenant selection plans (TSPs), marketing, and waiting lists will provide an overview of the required and recommended TSP topics. Since the TSP is the formal, written policy that Owners use to operate their property, it’s vital to know what to include and how to apply it. Screening criteria, rejecting applicants, and VAWA are also covered.

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class C – Earned and Unearned Income 4350.3 Chapter 5, Part 1 - $95

This is the third class in the Essentials of the HUD Program course. Identifying income-eligible residents is absolutely critical. Learn about what income to include, how to anticipate and annualize income as necessary, and how to calculate earned and unearned income.

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class D – Asset Income and Verification Procedures 4350.3 Chapter 5, Part 2 - $95

This is the fourth class in the Essentials of the HUD Program course. Focusing on assets, this class will teach you about the different types of assets that may or may not be counted when determining income. You will also learn how to calculate rent and total tenant payment.

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class E – Lease Requirements and Leasing Activity 4350.3 Chapters 6 & 7 - $95

This is the fifth class in the Essentials of the HUD Program course. This class will dive deeper into HUD’s lease requirements, including accompanying documents, deposits, fees, and the recertification process.

  • Lease requirements, terms, changes, security deposits, late fees, and inspections
  • Recertification, required notices, delays, interims, and transfers

Essentials of the HUD Program: Class F – Termination, EIV, and Civil Rights 4350.3 Chapters 8, 9, & 2 - $95

This is the final class in the Essentials of the HUD Program course. Learn about HUD’s termination, EIV, and civil rights requirements. Explore non-compliance, overpayment, and repayment, along with the required EIV reports and special claims.

Housing Compliance Manager of HUD “HCM-H” Designation Exam - $75

The Housing Compliance Manager of HUD “HCM-H” designation exam is designed to help you take the next step in your career to successfully work as a HUD professional. This 100-question exam is open-book. The class manuals from the Essentials of HUD courses will be useful to have on hand when taking this exam. A score of 67% is required to pass.

 

Time: 3-hour limit
Level: Intermediate
